The content is geared toward elementary fine arts educators; however, the skills and concepts can be adapted to a wide range of age groups. Workshop participants will interact with works of art in the gallery spaces within the Museum and will creatively explore the connections between visual art, theater, and music, using a variety of materials.

This workshop is brought to you by a special partnership between the Museum of the Southwest and L.A.N.D.S from the Texas Wildlife Association. Registration for this cross-curricular workshop is free and is tailored to meet the needs of both general classroom educators and art educators.

JULY 30 I TEACH ON! AND SARA DRESCHER PRESENT THE ART OF STORYTELLING
9:30 am – 4:30 pm
Registration: FREE for members, $25 for non-members
Join us for a special technique workshop and learn from local artist Sara Drescher. Sara’s unique artistic voice combines figurative portraits with organic abstracts to create stories and deeper connections between imagery and ideas. A ‘visual language’ flows from surreal combinations of color, texture, layers, and shape. Educators will learn how to use Sara’s techniques in their classrooms to encourage student creativity and storytelling.
