Midland native Steve Oles is considered one of the world’s premier architectural illustrators, and prior to his retirement taught architectural drawing at the Harvard Graduate School of Design, the Rhode Island School of Design, Yale University and MIT.
While a majority of his work was commissioned by the legendary New York firm I.M. Pei & Partners, the exhibition features additional examples of work created for other world-famous firms such as Cambridge Seven Associates, The Architects Collaborative and Safdie Architects. The exhibition features Ole’s illustrations of Boston’s Moakley Federal Courthouse, the Washington National Cathedral and Maya Lin’s Vietnam Veterans Memorial—as well as an incredible I.M. Pei designed building planned for Midland, but never built.
