The
West Texas Triangle is a collaboration between five art museums in this region. Along with the Museum of the Southwest, the group includes the Ellen Noël Art Museum in Odessa; the Grace Museum in Abilene; the Old Jail Art Center in Albany and the San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts in San Angelo. Each year, the five Museums select one Texas sculptor to display at the Museums throughout the summer.

The West Texas Triangle 2016 artist is Roger Colombik. Colombik lives in the Texas Hill Country with his wife and artistic collaborator Jerolyn. His sculptures address a range a conceptual interests that include composing environments of poetic repose in public spaces and the transformative nature of journeys, both inward and external. The universal intent is to soften the flight of time for the viewer through a distinct sculptural experience. Educated in art foundry programs at Southern Illinois University–Carbondale and University of Illinois–Champaign, he continues to explore the material and conceptual possibilities of casting and fabrication.

Colombik is in his 28th year of teaching sculpture at Texas State University.
