Katie Maratta - Central
From the central area is Austin-based artist Katie Maratta. Maratta received a BA from Princeton University and worked as an illustrator and cartoonist before focusing on the Texas landscape. Specifically, the Texas horizon.

The typical piece is just one inch high, but four feet long and often includes iconic Texas elements such as pumpjacks, silos, and fence lines. Because these details cannot be seen all at once, the viewer must "travel" the piece, an experience that parallels seeing the landscape from a moving car.
