Five from Ten represents five broad categories selected from the ten major collections at the Museum of the Southwest: archaeology, sculpture, history, textiles and Regionalism. Archaeology features ancient ceramics from the Casas Grandes culture. History shows the early twentieth century photogravures of Edward S. Curtis and drawings by Joseph Imhoff. A small selection of modern Navajo weavings is shown for the first time. Regionalism is represented by the lithographs of Merritt Mauzey, and the silk screens of Woody Crumbo. The works of art in this exhibition illustrate the variety of artists, subject matter and media in the permanent collection.
