Join us for the 142nd Run for the Roses and the greatest two minutes in sports! Ladies, wear your biggest hats and gentlemen, don your bow ties as we celebrate Derby Day in Midland.
The Museum of the Southwest will host its inaugural Kentucky Derby-themed fundraiser and garden party to celebrate the opening of the Museum’s latest exhibition in the newly-designed Turner Legacy Galleries. This exhibition highlights the family’s two Kentucky Derbywinning horses, Tomy Lee (1959) and Alysheba (1987), and displays their prized Kentucky Derby trophies.
Have a Mint Julep—or “Mint Juliette”—with your friends and play lawn games on the front lawn of the historic Turner Mansion. Wear your biggest Derby hats or best derby day garb for our contests and don’t forget to get your picture taken with one of our equestrian friends.
